This has been my experience other Wednesday nights too. I was drawn into the energy of the meditation until this energy left me a little past 9:30. I felt an energy of gentleness centered in my heart. It was warm and radiant, deep and expansive. I was aware of the focus of trying to be a channel for energies of light to come into the earth, especially into the presence of human beings.</p> <p>Today out walking in the forest with three dogs fanning out like wolves among the trees, silently attuned to each other, I felt the energy behind all the forms I saw as compassion, a subtle stream of it everywhere. This had no starting point in one individual or end point in some other as I have usually experienced an exchange; it was not oriented to personal motivation and so was a mystery my ego could not grasp. Yet it moved through and underlay everything.</p> <p>I climbed up a steep hillside to where a spring gurgled beneath a big rock overhung with a frozen waterfall. The dogs embroidered their adventures around mine; somehow I had no qualms about losing them. I felt like an early Hominid resting in the snow, happy to be linked to such ancestors as well as to these wolf-like friends. It sounds like you were trully in the moment and that is absoutely beautiful. I quit smoking a little over 25 years ago, which probably not so coincedently was shortly after I started meditation on a regular basis. I also took a course in hypnosis and found the combination of self hypnosis and meditation very heipful. However, it was by no means easy to quit, I think it is one of the most difficut things to do, I pray the you will get the support you need to be successful. I would suggest that when the urge arrises find a place to relax and do a brief meditation, I think that you eventually find this time more rewarding and beneficial.</p> <p>As far as starting meditation, my suggestion is to fisrt find out what type of disapline feels right to you. The event begins with the intentional gathering of light forces on the higher dimensions of light. I too have had times when I feel emotional energies pass through me, some are my own and some not, it can be difficult to endure. My experience of the meditation is of a definite event. Just like if someone were to knock on the door and ask to come in. Then there is a whole experience which I have difficulty putting into words, but it is like a journey of connecting with all the others who are meditating, and also connecting with the Earth. Perhaps my experience could be of support. </p> <p>Many years ago I was deeply called in my heart to participate in a spiritual path that was connected with Christianity and used prayers such as the "Our Father" and "Hail Mary" in their spiritual practice. I was quite deeply provoked by this, because of all of the associations of pain I carried from the negative experiences and associations I had in the past. They sang hymns to Jesus and Mary, and this brought up quite a lot for me! </p> <p>My inner guidance encouraged me to 'stick with it' despite my difficulties, and I eventually came to a much deeper understanding of my soul's history and my purpose in this life, and why I was called to that path. I ended up receiving such profound healing on so many different levels of my being. I feel this happened because my heart was guiding me, and some part of me that was beyond my feelings of pain and my initial reactions, seemed to know that I needed to be there. </p> <p>I empathize deeply with your feeling guided and connected here, and also encountering things that cause difficulty. Although i find myself often throughout the day in what i consider a meditative state, i've only done guided meditation once at the end of a tai chi class.</p> <p>Doran your goal is admirable and i share in the goal of leaving behind divisiveness as well as any false sense of togetherness.</p> <p>Perhaps conversations through shared experiences in regards to meditation will be best in regards to mutual understanding.</p> <p>I fell asleep last night holding in my mindful intent the desire to come to this group with an open heart first and foremost.</p> <p>I awoke with a sense of acceptance that each soul comes to reunite with love through their own unique to them avenues. I feel a resolve to place aside for now *concepts of God in the belief that not only do i have much to learn but that in my learning openly and honestly others may also benefit either in strengthening of their own connection to that which keeps them a positive light in our world and In a positive light that nurtures their growth and in so wishing for others i've just given myself permission and perhaps a purer ability to do so within myself.</p> <p>It's with no small certainty that i thank the attention of the positive minds on this forum in 'whoooshing' this along for me...for in the past with such a dilemna it would take many nights of holding intent to come through to such clarity.<br /> Namaste! </p> http://oneworldmeditations.org/forums/topic.php?id=19#post-50 Fri, 01 Feb 2008 09:33:42 +0000 Myths 50@http://oneworldmeditations.org/forums/ <p>Very well said faveran, i believe this view speaks directly to my critical views.<br /> When you speak of conditioning, both inherent as well as self perpetuated, i realize<br /> that when attempting understanding and intigration of that which i resonate with and i have the blockages of reinforced critiquing i keep at a distance that which i feel in my heart yet is kept at bay by my mind, that unconditional love.<br /> I will approach the meditations as an individual *i've not yet started, apparently my mind is the "gatekeeper" once more, but i'll approach the oneworld meditations with awareness and fluidity rather than perception/conception rigidity.<br /> This may be difficult and using the moments i have before Wed to become comfortable or longer if needed, will be a welcome acclimation for me.<br /> As you say I too have a ways to go, it's the journey and not the destination tho and so i sign with joy and Namaste!
